Birds Nest

Colourful wooden birds lined up in the windowsill catch the eye when you walk into this cosy place with only enough room for about 20-30 guests. An impressive painting of a peacock in a tree with flaming orange leaves covers an entire wall. Most of the furniture in here is built by the English and Thai owners themselves, who started the café 18 months ago. They take pride in their homemade delicacies such as pesto, hummus and peanut butter. Their carrot cake, which comes with a frosting that is most likely to become love at first bite, is also made from scratch. Although the Birds nest is mainly a place you go for delicious Mediterranean food or a good cup of coffee, it also offers film and music events, mostly of the independent and alternative kind on every Friday at 7 pm. For those thirsty souls among you, the bar offers wine and beer. You will also find a small collection of Chinese, Thai and western chess boards here as well as shelves full of books for guests to indulge in.
