The floods occurred this morning, around 6.30am, when torrential rains fell on Ban Mae Aor Nai, Mae Na sub district, Chiang Dao. Many houses were both flooded by water, and mud. There was widespread, though not extensive, damage to property. The water has since receded and authorities and rescue workers are helping to return the village to good condition.

The Chiang Mai Office of Education has announced that 450,000 students between the ages of 5-18 will be returning to 900 schools declared fit for opening as of this Monday. According to authorities, 80% of all students and nearly 100% of teachers and staff have now been fully vaccinated.
