Community Coffee

 |  January 31, 2018

These community based cafes are mad on bringing people together be it to enjoy an evening out, peace out in a garden or meet other likeminded fans of hard to find drinks and ingredients.

Kongkom Café

This nice little community of cafes and restaurants is known as the Payak Noi Community is in Sansai. With funky home style cafes and a shady peaceful common garden area, it’s a great place to go if you are in the area and looking for time out. Kongkorm Café is one of the cafes serving up teas, coffees, milk, smoothies, Italian sodas and a range of desserts such as bread pudding, ice cream and freshly baked goods. They also serve savoury dishes like their popular black pepper pork steak which we personally love. They have a special menu from Fridays to Sundays packed with interesting Thai dishes like oyster spicy salad and Thai spicy soups. Get out of town for an afternoon and enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat in this little escape from the city.

Bistro Kura

A wine specialist from Japan with over three decades of experience has created a home-like restaurant that casually serves up some delicious authentic Japanese food — paired with hand selected wines. Fresh fish are imported once a week and crafted into a bite-sized sashimi slithers of freshness. Highlights include the beef selection, all imported directly from Japan, including Kobe A4 and Wagyu A4. But the Japanese imported meat is not the only thing authentic about this great venue’s food, most of the ingredients used for every dish here is self-grown with seeds from Japan or selected from trusted producers and farmers in the area. In addition to the menu items, the bistro also sells rare Japanese ingredients, vegetable and herbs that you can take home and use yourself every Saturday.

Open 11am – 2pm and 5.30 – 10pm, (Tuesdays 11am – 5pm and 5.30 – 10pm, closed on Mondays)

B Tamps Coffee

This sit and chill café located in the B Samcook Home 16 community is packed with style and trendiness that extends to their menu as well. Their style and menu are both unique, with drinks like the mojito coffee — infusing flavours of mint and lemon into a coffee, and the avocado latte — a latte served in half an avocado with a side of honey that you can eat alongside the avocado once you’ve downed your coffee. If you are more of a traditionalist, then don’t be afraid, the café also serves your classic coffees both hot and cold, sans any funky flavours. They also have a reasonable selection of mocktails, teas and smoothies for those with a sweeter tooth. The community also has a restaurant, wine bar and rooms to rent if you are looking for something a little more substantial.
