Coffee Galore!

 |  July 1, 2018

If you thought our coffee lists were soon to be exhausted, think again. Here are three more coffee shops to add to the never-ending list of caffeine hubs in our city.

Nuan Café & Bistro

Imagine relaxing in a cosy Thai house and escaping from the busy life of the city, a freshly brewed coffee in front of you and a book in your hand. In spite of being in the centre of the city’s hustle and bustle, Nuan Café and Bistro offers a truly peaceful sanctuary for coffee lovers. The owners have a passion for creativity and this is obvious in both the décor and the menu. The entire menu takes a unique look at both tea and coffee, encouraging you to step out of the box and try something new. Their menu is always changing too, following the seasons and any other bright ideas the owners come up with. Right now, the ‘heart in hand’ coffee is a hot latte served in a waffle cone, or if you prefer to wind down, try the ‘night fury’ an iced charcoal Thai tea.

Sarah House Café in Town

In a small soi tucked away just off the canal road that eventually leads to Nimmanhaemin, is a place where you can fill you belly with good home cooked food, and some nice teas and coffees to boot. The café itself is surrounded by trees and has a quiet, breezy atmosphere to it, with an outdoor seating area covered with a glass roof that feels like you are in a botanical garden or your grandfather’s greenhouse. The restaurant menu is filled with carefully crafted and intriguing Thai fusion cuisine, including pork and shrimp wontons with Szechuan sauce, and Sarah’s duck – a Beijing style roast duck dish. Another dish which is very popular is the pork steak with pepper sauce – our favourite. They also give discounts to customers who check in and post photos on social media, so check with the server when you arrive to find out their latest deal.

Open 8am – 4pm

Maled Coffee Roasters

This small coffee shop is tucked down the old Wing 41 road, a road that seems to see its fair share of shops and cafes in the past few months. As the name implies, the shop roasts its own coffee in-store, with a big coffee roasting machine displayed in the window. Apart from local beans, they also stock a wide range of beans that they blend from Africa and South American crops too. Apart from the go to classics like lattes and espressos, they also push the boat out mixing soda with coffee and even orange juice in the cold brew orange coffee that is a sour sweet concoction of ingenuity. If you prefer not to be stoked up on strong caffeine shots, why not grab an iced green tea or peach tea soda instead.
