Burger joints are opening up city-wide and is all the rage these days. You can have a posh beetroot bunned foie-gras burger at a white table-clothed restaurant or hang out by the side of the road at 2am and chow down on some greasy fries and a dodgy bun.

With their modern basement feel, paired with faux brick work and moody filament lighting, Hamburg brings classic and fusion burgers and pairs them with cocktails and German beer. Beef or pork burgers are served in a variety of different styles. For Japanese food lovers, try the teriyaki sauce burger, served in a black sesame bun. Burger Box
One of the newest additions to the plethora of food stalls and trucks along Suthep Road flanking the university (and another branch in town) is a box that sells inexpensive, delicious and 100% beef burgers. With classic juicy burgers starting at just 70 baht, Burger Box is a bargain. Pork burgers, chicken burgers and fish burgers are even cheaper, and the variety is impressive for such a small box. They even do a mean fish and chips. Owned by two brothers, their chips (skins still on please) and onion rings are all homemade.

Beast Burger
Self-proclaimed Gourmet Food Truck, Beast Burger sells some of the juiciest, fattest and satisfying burgers in all of Chiang Mai. Using only the freshest ingredients, they craft their beautifully succulent burgers to order. Try their BBQ pulled pork burger or their 100% freshly ground premium beef Beast Burger – with special sauce, all the trimming (and an option to double up…if you can manage the sheer size of it!) They sometimes cater events and parties so keep up to date on their Facebook.
