A Virtual Chiang Mai

 |  August 1, 2017

Chiang Mai is going virtual with a number of places serving up the latest Virtual Reality to get you gaming or even to clear your brain. Check it out, but watch your balance!

VR Cafe
Step into a different realm at the first ever virtual reality cafe in Chiang Mai. The café is divided into two sections — the VR room and the restaurant. The VR room provides sofas for people to lounge around and talk to each other while watching players on VR headsets perform on the flat screen TVs. This place is perfect for anyone who wants to just kick back and be entertained by the magic of technology in a living room atmosphere. Thai food, western food, and a selection of finger foods are served in the restaurant part of the café. Players can snag a quick bite or a cup of coffee before beginning their gaming sessions. Located on the third floor of Le Dta’Wan offices, the restaurant’s panoramic windows overlook the streets below. Even if you’re not a gamer, you can still appreciate this cafe for their good food, drinks, and laid-back atmosphere.

Open 2pm – 11.30pm (Closed Mondays)
Le Dta’Wan, 456 86/1 Sridonchai Road

Champ Games
For some, Virtual Reality is better off played at home. This way you can make a total fool of yourself and be safe in the knowledge nobody is watching you…well apart from your very confused house cat perhaps. Either way, you can roll around, loose your balance and never hold back when hooking up a VR unit to your PlayStation 4. Sure, the PS4 is not the only console with VR but it’s probably the easiest one to source here in Thailand. Champ games sells the VR units in-store at the Big C Extra on the superhighway. He also stocks consoles, games, controllers and a myriad of other gaming accessories that can add to the experience.

Open 10am – 8.30pm
2nd Floor Big C Extra, Superhighway (near the food court)
