CityNews – People looking to obtain a visa for the UK can now apply here in Chiang Mai, in the UK’s new Visa Application Centre opened on May 16.
The new visa application centre, run by VFS, will make it quicker and easier for customers in Northern Thailand to apply for their UK visas. However, the process will cost £55 (roughly 2,750 baht) extra as the service is a user-pay Visa Application Centre.
The centre will be open from 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, with ‘primetime’ appointments available on Saturday mornings for a fee.
Customers can also pay extra for a number of premium services offered at the VAC including the 3-5 day Priority Visa service, Premium Lounge as well as additional services provided by VFS such as ‘’walk in’’ appointments.

There will be no changes to the visa process for customers, who will continue to apply for their visa and book their visa appointment via www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa.
