CityNews – A man who robbed a Krung Thai bank on Nimmanhaemin Road on Friday 15th October has been arrested.
On the afternoon in question, Prachanon ‘Mink’ Nutnoo, 30, rode his motorbike to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital and parked it. He then saw a student riding a motorbike past him and kicked the student off the bike, mounting the bike and driving off.
He drove straight to the bank and held a knife to the teller, walking away with 271,640 baht.
He drove back to the hospital, left the stolen motorbike, returned to his own bike and drove off.
Caught CCTV footage, the police were finally able to track him to his apartment and he was arrested late Monday night.
According to Thai Rath Newspaper, ‘Mink’ had borrowed money from loan sharks to open a coffee shop, but since it failed, he robbed the bank to pay off his creditors.
The suspect pleaded guilty to both crimes; theft of motorbike as well as robbery.
