CityNews – A video clip of a female tourist enjoying a naked bungee jump in Chiang Mai has gone viral, resulting in a raid and a 1,000 baht fine for damaging the city’s fame, appropriateness and culture.
A group of Asian tourists visited the X Centre on May 15, and proceeded to take a naked bungee jump and film it on their phones.
After the video went viral, Mae Rim police raided the X Centre which admitted that the naked bungee took place, but it was at the decision of the tourists and they were robed until they took the jump.
The centre was fined 1000 baht and warned not to let this type of incident happen again.
Police told the X Centre that they risked the fame, appropriateness and culture of Chiang Mai and must be responsible for their visitor’s actions.
Police are currently communicating with several embassies to trace the tourists and prosecute them for obscenity.
