CityNews – A monk was found dead in his room in Wat Ram Poeng after not leaving his room for sevral days which caused the other monks to investigate.
The monk has been identified as 57-year-old Phra Prasert Donkitpai.
According to a 17-year-old monk, Phra Suthasit Hinmali, bad odors were coming from the room and flies were collecting around the door and windows to his room.
He and other monks then investigated and found the monk, passed away on his bed.
Doctors say the cause of death was due to a congenital disease.
Phra Prasert was often away in other provinces, so nobody noticed his disappearance.
His belongings were not stolen and there was no sign of foul play.
