CityNews – Police identify and arrest gang leader after other gang members arrested and reports of attacks around the city increase.
31-year-old Jetsada “Yai Tippanet” Meerisan was arrested in Huay Tung Tao on June 23, after a tip off that he would be there with some other of his gang members.
On April 13, Songkran revelers called police after being severely beaten up by a gang of teenagers.
This report lead to the arrest of several suspects who were members of the TPN gang, or Tippanet gang.
It was by these arrests and other information gathered over the last couple of months that lead to the identification and arrest of the gang leader, Jetsada Meesrisan, who lives behind the Tippanet market in the Hai Ya area.
Jetsada has been accused of attacking the Songkran revelers with a knife.
He admitted to his crime and awaits prosecution.
