Chiang Mai Flooded by Morning Rain

CityNews – Heavy rains this morning caused many roads to flood, damaging homes and shops in badly affected areas.

Early this morning heavy monsoon rain fell for over two hours which caused many flash floods on roads and areas with poor drainage. The flooded roads caused congestion and damaged some shops and homes. Kad Kom, the Thai dance College and the Sri Ping Muang community was badly affected.

It is expected that all flooding will dissipate by lunchtime today.

The Thai Meteorological Centre said that there will be more heavy rain in Chiang Mai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Khon Kaen, Kalasin, Roi Et, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Ubon Ratchathani, Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. People need to be aware that flooding is possibly in times of heavy monsoon rain.
