AIS Press Conference Outlines New Projects for Northern Thailand

CityNews – On March 13, AIS held a press conference introducing new developments to improve well-living of people in Thailand along with digital infrastructure updates at Central Festival outside the Major Cineplex.

AIS will renovate their digital base for Northern Thailand with both Mobile Super Wifi and Fixed Broadband. Phonrat Chencharatsakun – regional vice president AIS said that according to the Government’s policy of leading Thailand towards Thailand 4.0, both socially and digitally, they have decided to promote Chiang Mai as a smart city, offering new services such as Narrowband loT, Gigabit Network in building coverage section, and new TV channels – Fox, HBO, NBA and a new TV device, ChromeCast, which will enhance accessibility.

Four major action plans were detailed at the conference:

  1. Agriculture and OTOP entrepreneur – bringing customers to sellers via channel management system, also called “E-marketplace” these will occur through Application of AIS – Farm Suk.
  2. Public Health – AIS created Application called “อสม.”(Primary Health care Division) that helps Public Health community’s operation contact more with their people in village and primary care for 88 places throughout the country.
  3. Education – establish a project called “Sanrak Sankhawamru” contributed network, AIS PlAYBOX, DLTV – National Geographic, Edutainment VOD for more than 300 schools in Thailand.
  4. Stat Up – Cooperating with Creative & Design Center (TCDC), AIS will create a place for creative people to meet and start up their business connected through API on product & service with AIS Digital Platform. Also advice service by E-commerce clinic by AIS in Northern Thailand.
