Khao Tom Nai Ood

This month we invite our media friends husband and wife Adithep ‘Pop’ Nuamcherm and Alisa ‘Pong’ Sompong from Finedae Magazine to take us to their favourite late night rice soup restaurant, Khao Tom Nai Ood on Chang Moi Road. Over a decade ago when Pop’s father set up a business here in Chiang Mai, he stopped by this place for a late night meal and Pop soon became a fan along with his father. Today this is where Pop and his friends gather for a casual hangout after watching a late night football game. Their favourites are salted egg spicy salad, crispy pork spicy salad, chicken coconut soup and crispy gouramy fish salad. Sawang Suntrawattana or Uncle Ood started this restaurant over 30 years ago with his family recipes that focus on Thai-Chinese cuisine. The place is now run by his children.
