Le Bistrot de Chiang Mai

Le Bistrot de Chiang Mai is a long standing restaurant which has been completely revamped by its new owners, Head Chef Olivier Guilmain and his Restaurateur wife and Owner, Kakorn Guilman. A spectacular menu now features great new creations while also holding onto old favourites and a solid wine list which has been carefully selected to pair well with various dishes.

With over 30 years’ experience, Guilmain has had a vibrant and exciting career working in and owning restaurants all over the world from the Dominican Republic to Australia and more recently Myanmar and Thailand.

The couple have now settled in Chiang Mai and Chef Oliver is now cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On our last visit we tried the cold cut platter along with homemade sausages which were served with a well chosen wine, then we dug into the bio and hydro fresh salad served with virgin olive oil dressing. Next was the provincial style lamb stew served with tagliatelle and the homemade Toulouse cassoulet  of white beans, smoked bacon and duck leg confit. They also serve a range of steaks from the grill, from simple prime beef steaks and sirloin, rib eye and tenderloin classics, to the classic tournedos rossini, a tenderloin steak served with pan friend foie gras and potato puree with truffle.
