Grand Opening of Chiang Mai Design Week 2018 by ACM Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice at the Lanna Folklife Museum. The Chiang Mai Design Week 2018 last from 8th – 16 December 2018.
Creative Economy Agency (CEA) and governmental and private organizations have joined hands together to host ‘Chiang Mai Design Week 2018’ Festival; which includes Installation Showcase Exhibitions, discussion forums, workshops and handmade product shops. This festival is held in the center of Chiang Mai City around the Three Kings Monument including Chiang Mai Art and Culture Gallery, Lanna Photographic Gallery, Lanna Local Museum, Community of Chiang Man Temple – Lam Chang Temple and Chiang Mai Design Center. Opening of NAP Vibe 2018
Opening of The annual Ninnamhaemindha Art and Design Promenade (N.A.P.) Nimmanhaemindha Soi 1. NAP will continue until 11 December 2018 with many stalls showcasing local products, lots of food and drink outlets, workshops during the afternoon, and every evening there will be concerts.
The Governor of Chiang Mai, Supachai Iamsuwan, opened the exhibition showcasing the ‘Lanna Palaces and Royal Homes in Northern Thailand’ at the Promenada.
The exhibition will be on display until 7 December 2018, open daily from 11am until 8pm.

Globalization has made the world of things permeable. Everyday object oscillate between cultures. Three curators Martin Rendel (Germany) Philip Cornwel Smith (Thailand) and Piboon Amomjirapom (Thailand) selected 25 Thai and German objects which are so ordinary that they seem insignificant. Yet they reveal a lot about us – our traditions, our history and also our mentality.

Opening of The Consul’s Garden
Opening of The Consul’s Garden, ‘Coffee & Tea in Paradise’ on the banks of the Ping River behind Le Coq d’Or Restaurant.
The house was once the private residence of William Alfred Rae Wood, the first British Consul in Chiang Mai from 1921 – 1970. In this captivating area of The Consul’s Garden W.A.R. Wood built three houses for his own use. The first house is currently Le Coq d’Or Restaurant, the second house is the one behind The Consul’s Garden, and the last one is on the other side of the garden next to an enormous Raintree that was planted by both he and his wife (formerly Punya Jitpreecha). Upon his retirement in 1931 W.A.R. Ward spent his life peacefully and happily in this place and wrote a book named ‘Consul in Paradise, Sixty-eight years in Siam. Therefore the current owner welcomes everyone to ‘Coffee & Tea in Paradise’.

Opening of The 22 K Ceramics Exhibition at Hotel Des Artists, Ping Silhouette Charoenrak Road; a gathering of 22 northern ceramic artists, including Amonthep Mahamart, Karmin Lertchaiprasert and Somluk Pantiboon The exhibition is on display until December 9, open daily from 11am until 8pm. This exhibition is a space where each artist can show a glimpse of their own traits, forms of techniques and/or contents that inspire them at the moment.
