On arrival at Arcade Bus Station, the Grab car was surrounded by men who took photographs, and made threats, forcing the driver and passengers to leave the car. One tuk tuk driver tried to attack the Grab car driver, and held a metal pipe in his hand with an aggressive gesture.
Winston Vaduz posted the image with the caption, Welcome to Chiang Mai? And the clip went viral rapidly.
The ongoing debate as to the merits of Grab car, which are not legally supported by Thai law, and the inefficient and often bad service of the local transportation, has yet to lead to any solutions.
