CityNews – Today 26th September at 1pm, the police announced the arrest of a suspected shoes thief. This is a follow-on to our earlier story about shoe thefts at Wat Phra Singh.

Today 26th September at 1pm, the police announced the arrest of Sasiwat Limcharoenkitsakul, 34, a man found with ten expensive pairs of shoes in his house, a handbag and a motorbike, all suspected of being stolen from both Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh, popular tourist destinations.

Following an earlier report about concerns over expensive shoes being stolen from tourists visiting temples, police took swift action, and have now found the culprit red…footed.

The man confessed to stealing the shoes, saying that he personally liked them, but that he also sold them for some money.
