CityNews – National parks across the country have now banned all plastic containers and foam boxes.

In compliance with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s policy announced earlier this year, Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, along with other 153 national parks and zoos across the country, have now banned plastic containers and foam boxes.

The Doi Suthep-Pui National park now has 200 reusable bags for all visitors to borrow for free.

The ministry has estimated that the policy will help reduce the usage of single use plastic by three million tonnes a year.
