CityNews – Man denies illegal logging charge but was found with weapons near a national park.
On March 13th, police raided a hut in Ban Eaik, T. San Pa Yao in Mae Taeng after receiving reports that illegal logs were being stored in the area. The report also stated that gun shots are heard daily. In the hut, police found Rat Padsri, 65, along with an M16 gun, a .380 pistol along with several more weapons, two woodcutter saws and five pieces of processed woods. The man denied the allegation of illegal logging, claiming that these were items in his private collection. He is charged with possessing weapons without permission while the allegation on illegal logging is still under investigation.
