CityNews – Chiang Mai air quality is reaching unhealthy levels for the first time this year.

According the Chiang Mai Air Quality Health Index website, PM 2.5 levels in Muang Chiang Mai reached 118 today, January 28th. The figure is similar to the aqicn.org which revealed that the AQI at Yupparaj Wittayalai School is at 112. Both figures are above safety levels and are labelled as unhealthy.

Other districts that have reached unhealthy levels, according to the Climate Change Data Centre of Chiang Mai University, include Mae Rim, Saraphee, San Sai, Mae On, Doi Saket, Jom Thong, Hot, Phrao, Mae Chaem, and Samoeng.
