CityNews – 14th January 2020, following Charoenrit Sa-nguansat, Chiang Mai governor’s order for all 25 districts in Chiang Mai to tackle air pollution, numerous district authorities in Chiang Mai have begun spraying water in an attempt to increase moisture in certain areas to reduce impacts from wildfire.

Authorities have also begun to disseminate news on local radio stations to give advice to people as to how to care for themselves as PM 2.5 levels rise.  Many districts have also provided safety spaces with air purifiers for their citizens.

Omkoi district, for instance, has announced that they have 34 safety zone rooms in 6 sub-districts for health-sensitive people to use when PM 2.5 levels rise to dangerous levels.
