INTG Meeting about The Catholic Mission in Chiang Mai

Informal Northern Thai Group at Alliance Francaise. The talk was by Fr. Giovanni Rengo on the  Catholic Mission in Chiang Mai. Fr. Giovanni Rengo is a Catholic priest from Italy doing pastoral work in Chiang Mai. Roman Catholicism in Chiang Mai dates back to the mid-19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century missionary activities expanded. In 1931 the Brothers of St. Gabriel came to Chiang Mai and established and developed Montfort College near the site of the Cathedral on the Ping River.
