AirAsia ‘Thank You’ Lunch at X2 Riverside
AirAsia ‘thank you to the local media’ lunch at X2 Riverside Chiang Mai.
Surapun Homkajorn, the Station Manager Chiang Mai told Citylife AirAsia had 3.5 million passengers in 2017 to/from Chiang Mai, domestic and international. Their target for 2018 is 3.8 million passengers, 86% of capacity. Currently they have 5 aircraft stationed overnight in Chiang Mai and as of 24 March 2018 it will increase to 6 aircraft. AirAsia has 35 flights a day to/from Chiang Mai reaching 13 destinations (5 international and 8 domestic. They are planning to increase the service to Krabi and Khon Kaen in the near future. Surapun also explained he wishes to promote the Self Check-In Kiosk and Auto Bag Drop which is hoped to decrease the amount of waiting in line at the ticket counters.

S.W.E.E.T. was founded by Anisa, Janni, Lisa & Rain, all of whom are passionate about empowering Wo(men) to step outside their comfort zones, think outside the box, encourage personal and community development, self belief and be the very best versions of themselves. How do these SWEET wo(men) plan to do this? By creating events, workshops, adventure camps/trips/retreats and conservation awareness programmes all for wo(men) and by wo(men). They aim to partner with local charities in order to help local communities benefit through our events. S.W.E.E.T. are a group of Wo(men) who simply believe in equal opportunities, who believe in strength in unity towards a good cause whether its climate change or trafficking. S.W.E.E.T believes in supporting and lifting each other up thus not discriminating against race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. S.W.E.E.T believes in equal rights between people from all walks of life and that education is liberation. They hope that people’s lives will be a little SWEETer just by coming into contact with their organization.
Recently S.W.E.E.T have partnered with Eed and the whole crew of Elephant Co-working space, which is predominantly female and has been one of S.W.E.E.T’s choices of venues. With its tiered roof garden it makes an ideal venue for an outdoor rooftop film club, With their three clean, sleek, modern floors of comfortable spaces to choose to work, co-work and study from, users are spoilt for choice. The space has provision for snacks and drinks available from their contemporary ground floor café. Eed has been very supportive of S.W.E.E.T and they are excited to be hosting their first rooftop film night about female empowerment and the battle the suffragettes faced in gaining the right to vote in Great Britain at this awesome venue. They look forward to hosting many more workshops and events at these premises.

The Indian Consulate Chiang Mai arranged a screening of III Smoking Barrels at SFX Cinema Maya Lifestyle Mall. The Director Sanjib Dey and Producer Amit Malpani joined the Indian Consulate Shirish Jain, his wife Rajni Basumatary and special guests for this special preview of the film, soon to be released to the general public.
III Smoking Barrels tells three stories of a child who escaped from a rebel camp, a drop-out college student whose life is in entangled in drugs issue and a man who became an elephant poacher.
The pre-film cocktail party was catered by Accha Indian Restaurant. After the film The Director Sanjib Dey and Producer Amit Malpani held a Q & A with the audience

International Balloon Festival (Saturday)
Saturday at the International Balloon Festival 2018 at Army Cowboy Club Huay Tung Tao, with the highlight Tiger Drums with the Lanna Orchestra and Balloon Night Glow and Fireworks. Entertainment also included the Northgate Big Band, Splash Lanna Contemporary VS Flamenco Dance, and Cold Fusion.
