Uber Comes to Chiang Mai

CityNews – Uber, a private online app taxi hire company, has begun servicing Chiang Mai from November 1st, 2016.

According to the Uber press website, the service officially started yesterday, but only card payments were available. From today, November 2, cash payment options are now available too.

The basic fare is just 20 baht, with a charge of 2 baht per kilometre or per minute.

A flat fare of 150 baht will be charged for taxis to/from Chiang Mai International Airport and a flat fare of 250 baht to/from Doi Suthep Temple.

According to their website, an Uber taxi from Tha Pae Gate to Nimmanhaemin Road will cost as little as 55 baht.
