The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in cooperation with the Thai tourism industry, hosts Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2017 (TTM+2017) on June 14-16 at Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC), Chiang Mai. The event is the largest travel mart in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) and has been held in Chiang Mai for two years with more than 1500 domestic and international buyers and sellers.


The opening ceremony of Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2017 (TTM+2017) was held on June 14 at Leelawadee Room 1-2, and was delivered by Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn (Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand) and H.E. General Tanasak Patimapragorn (Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand).

The highlights include tourism trend talk forums with high-level keynote speakers, H.E. Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul (Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand), Mason Florence (The World’s 50 Best Restaurant Academy), Dr David Beirman Ph.D (Senior Lecturer University of Technology-Sydney) and Ms. Sarah Mathews (Head of Destination Marketing Asia Pacific (APAC), TripAdvisor, local tourism-related products and services exhibition, and also tourism showcases and workshops.

The event has planned to support the service and tourism business sector in Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) counterparts. Small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs) can gain an opportunity to exhibit their products on the international stage.

This year’s programme has been attentively provided maximum time for trade, networking and business talks among 400 sellers from Thailand and the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) and 350 international buyers from over 60 countries worldwide. Besides, the showcase concept for this year is Amazing Thailand, Discover Amazing Stories: The Unique Thai Local Experiences which contains Thailand’s local experiences in a specific area for travelers and unique stories with culture, history, or tradition to make them learn the way of Thai life and discover exciting new perspectives.
