Thailand will donate between 300 – 500 tonnes of rice to Nepal, but the exact amount of monetary aid has not yet been confirmed.

Speaking on Sunday 26 April, Air Chief Marshal, Monthon Satchukorn, has said that the Royal Thai Air Force had not yet received a request from the government to provide assistance. However, they are prepared to send aircraft and personnel to Nepal at short notice.

According to latest reports, at least 3,218 people have lost their lives following the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday. Aftershocks have continued to roil the country, with an aftershock measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale striking yesterday.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Nepal has set up a centre where Thai people in the affected area can seek aid. All Thai nations have been confirmed safe.

Relatives of Thai nationals in Nepal can contact the centre via the following numbers 0940037190, 0940037191, 0940037192 and 0859114076. They can also contact the embassy directly at (977) 14414372.
