Students Dyeing Clothes for Free at CMU

CityNews – The Art Faculty of Chiang Mai University has announced that it will dye your clothes black for free, every week day from 9am to 4pm.

According to the official Facebook page of the Chiang Mai University Art Faculty, there will be students at the faculty throughout the day who will dye your clothes black for free, Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 4pm.

The dyeing station will be located on the ground floor of the design building.

Warorot Market was busier than it has ever been yesterday, with heavy traffic and hundreds of people trying to buy clothing and other accessories that were either black or white.

One store owner to CityNews that their clothes dyeing store has already run out of black dye and the photo frame shops in the market have run out of frames as so many people have been dyeing clothes and framing pictures of the King.

UPDATE – The Chiang Mai Provincial Office’s The Non-Formal and Informal Education Service will also be dyeing clothes black for free during the mourning period for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The dying began on the 17th and will last for the duration. They will also teach people how to dye their own clothes if they are interested. Every province in the country will have a dyeing station.
