CityNews – Locals in the Pa Dad area, while cleaning up Krathongs and rubbish in the Ping River after the Loy Krathong Festival, discovered an old statue of Shiva in the river.
The villagers retrieved the statue and has set up a temporary worshiping table until officials can examine the statue and find a suitable place for it.
They have also asked for officials to try and find out the history of the statue.
Villagers have gathered to make offerings to it and some have asked for lucky lottery numbers from the Shiva statue.
