CityNews – The Northern Royal Rainmaking Centre has claimed that due to the low humidity, it is currently impossible to encourage rainmaking during this drought period.
Rangsan Budmueaung, chief of the Royal Rainmaking Centre, has said that unless the humidity increases to 60% or above, artificial rainmaking cannot occur. This comes three days after the start of a new rainmaking project scheduled to last until October 31, in a bid to increase the amount of water stored in reservoirs and dams.
Currently four provinces have asked for immediate help from the Royal Rainmakers to help deal with the drought and dust problems. Thefour provinces are Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao and Lampang.
The Royal Rainmakers have two planes and one helicopter readied at Wing 41 – waiting for the right climate to be able to work.
