Rainstorms Ravage Mae Taeng

CityNews – Chiang Mai’s Mae Taeng district faced rainstorm and strong gusts yesterday afternoon, causing traffic congestion and a power outage.

Nine electricity poles were damaged on Chiang Mai – Fang Road. Damages were reported to houses in the Mae Taeng’s Keelek sub-district, as well as reports of many fallen trees across the region. There has been no reported injuries.

Authorities and officials have confirmed they are providing assistance to those affected.

According to Northern Meteorological Center, during this period, 40 percent of northern Thailand will face increased risk of thunderstorms and strong winds. The areas expected to be affected include Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, and Phetchabun.
