Public Firecrackers Display and Sales Banned

CityNews – Authorities inspect firecracker vendors for the upcoming Loy Krathong festival.

November 19th, Assanee Buranupakorn, Secretary to the Mayor, members of the Chiang Mai Municipality and the police visited firecracker vendors to ensure that all were conforming to security policies for this year’s Loy Krathong festival. All sales and usages of dangerous firecrackers are banned on the streets or in public spaces. Those who violate this policy will be subjected to a minimum of one month’s imprisonment or 1,000 baht fine or both. Those who are troubled by firecrackers can also report to the police and if guilty parties found, they will also be subject to similar penalty.
