CityNews – Jensak Limpiti, Director of Chiang Mai Irrigation Department reported levels of the Ping River as rising, but reassures citizens that there is no immediate risk of flood, as the water levels are being controlled and closely watched.

Last week’s rain fall has led to the an estimated 200 cubic metres of water flowing each second which is only half of the 400 cubic metre per second levels which will result in flooding.

He says that levels reached a high point in the last few days, but is now receding due to lessening of rain.
