CityNews – An elderly woman was identified on CCTV pick pocketing in Warorot Market after several tourists and locals contacted the police after finding their belongings gone.
Police checked CCTV around the market after a tourist contacted police when he noticed he was being pick pocketed, but too late to save his iPhone which the thief ran off with.
Police soon found video evidence of an elderly woman identified as Suree Wantana, who was regularly seen at the market.
After arresting thew woman, they checked her home to find many items such as three wallets, numerous ID cards and more than 30 items of expensive jewelry.
During the preliminary investigation, Suree denied the accusations, but refused to explain the stolen goods in her possession. Police are continuing the investigation and are trying to return the stolen goods to their rightful owners.
