Official Announcement to Be Aware of Smoke Hazard

CityNews – Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health Office has warned all citizens to take care of their health due to the high levels of smog that exceeds the standard.

A doctor at the Chiang Mai Provincial Public Health, Capt. Puriwat Chokgerd, stated that according to the air quality record by the Pollution Control Department on March 18th, it has been found that Sriphum had a PM10 level of 101, 106 in Suthep, 125 in Chang Phueak, and 92 in Chang Khoeng.

The office announced that levels of smog in Chang Phueak exceeded the standard level (PM10 level of 120) affecting the health of the citizens. The doctor warned citizens to avoid dust and limit the number of outdoor activities. Everyone should also wear masks, close all doors and windows to prevent dust from entering the house. It is also recommended to keep living spaces moist by watering plants and everyone should follow the government’s policy of 51 days burning ban between March 1st and April 20th.
