No Plastic and No Foam Boxes in All National Parks From August 12th

CityNews – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has banned plastics and foam boxes from all national parks and zoos across the country.

Doi Suthep-Pui National Park is promoting the campaign in align with the policy from Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment who has announced to ban plastic and foam boxes from all national parks and zoo across the country. The policy is officially scheduled to start on August 12th this year.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister General Surasak Karnjanarat has revealed that Thailand uses over 45 billion plastic bags a year, 6.7 billion foam boxes and 9.7 billion plastic cups a year.

Doi Suthep-Pui National Park is among 154 other national parks that have already been encouraging all vendors in their grounds to use biodegradable containers instead of plastic.
