New Smart Job Centre Opened in Chiang Mai

CityNews – The opening of the new Smart Job Centre, aimed at providing jobs to Thai residents in Chiang Mai, was celebrated at CentralPlaza Chiang Mai Airport’s Chiang Mai Hall on June 19.

The opening was presided over by Minister of Labour General Surasak Kanchanarat and welcomed by Chiang Mai Governor Suriya Prasatbandit.

56 organisations with almost 3,000 positions on offer attended. The jobs were open for anybody currently unemployed and people could apply on the day or via an online system.

General Surasak told the press that he aims to support every Thai person in getting a job, resulting in the Smart Job Centres, mainly operated by Department of Employment, being introduced.

The centre aims to provide jobs and job recommendations, and utilizing internet systems, can instigate interviews via Skype or other online routes. The centre also provides job consultations for residents to get ready to find a job as well as to register to work abroad.
