More Water Released to Mitigate Drought Problems

CityNews – Following recent rainfall, the Chiang Mai Municipality’s Wastewater Treatment Plant in Pa Dad has released more water into 53 rai of land to help with the irrigation efforts following the extended summer drought.

According to Mayor Tassani Buranupakorn, this year’s drought problems are more severe than previous years’. As a result, many farmers and agricultural companies have lacked the water they need for cultivation and have asked the municipality for help.

The water released is treated wastewater that can be used for irrigation. The plant will release up to 4,000 cubic metres of treated water per day to help farmers.
