CityNews- 28th June, National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) has announced the white glinting material that fell to the ground in Pitsanuloke was most likely pieces of a meteor.

Many villagers in three districts of Pitsanuloke panicked in the early morning of the 27th June when their roofs were hit and houses shook with objects falling from the skies. NARIT says that after studying the material, they speculate that it is a natural occurrence from meteor debris and urged villagers not to panic.

Dr. Sarun Podsajinda, the deputy director of NARIT, added that the material was most likely a meteorite because it was black outside with the oval shape from the burning but inside there was a bright white glinting colour when facing with light as Ordinary Chondrites features.
