The retailers, led by Boonprom Yomkamsao, asked Governor Suriya Prasatbandit to come up with a solution to balance the loss lottery retailers are making due to the new 80 baht fixed price for lottery tickets which came into effect on June 1.

Before June 1, lottery tickets were sold at 90 to 100 baht a ticket.

The new law also prohibits tickets being sold at a price higher than stated on the ticket. Doing so will result in retailers being banned from purchasing their quota of tickets to sell.

Governor Suriya told the group that he would bring up the issue in the next governor meeting.
