CityNews – Chiang Mai has been announced as the hosting province for this year’s Lanna Expo 2015, at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
This annual mega exhibition of crafts culture, health and wellness involves many businesses and local enterprises from Mae Hong Son, Lamphun, Lampang and Chiang Mai. It also aims to increase competition between local trade and investment and prepare the north for ASEAN.
The event will take place between 4 – 13 September and the grand opening start the expo off at 4pm on September 5, presided over by the Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office and Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office M.L. Panadda Dissakul.
The expo will also showcase local performances, have a variety of booths and lots of activities visitors can get involved with.
Foreign relations and affairs will also be represented this year, with guests from six consulates attending the expo. Representatives included consuls from the Philippines, US, China, Japan, India and Burma.
Chiang Mai will present its own unique history with a mock-up of the Three Kings monument and Doi Suthep, celebrating 720 years. Lampang will present a ‘clean energy’ theme this year, and Lamphun will showcase its most prized longans.
