Indonesian Woman Accused of Robbing and Poisoning Man to Death

CityNews – An Indonesian woman allegedly poisoned a man and robbed him in a hotel in Chang Klan subdistrict of Chiang Mai.

In August this year, an Indian man was found dead in a hotel on Chang Klan Road. The following investigation revealed that he had been poisoned and lost consciousness, leading to his death. There is evidence that his valuable items had gone missing along with his credit card which was later found used in purchasing a diamond ring valued at 400,000 baht.

The suspect was a woman who was caught on the hotel’s CCTV with the deceased on the night in question. She left the country on the same day that the discovery of the body was reported. On November 18th, the suspect returned to Thailand via Pong Nam Ron border in Chanthaburi. Police have arrested her. After running a background check, Linda Wellish, 54, the suspect was found entering and leaving Thailand over 30 times over the last one and a half years. During which, she has been accused of criminal offense three times, in Khon Kaen, Udon Thani and Bangkok.

The latest report revealed that she admitted to the robbery charge but denies her involvement in poisoning the deceased.
