Green Light for Digital ID Draft Bill
CityNews – The cabinet gives a green light to the digital ID draft bill.
On September 11th, the cabinet gave approval to the draft digital ID bill in facilitating transactions and contracts, as currently personal identification and document submissions are required in services such as government, banks and hospitals. The bill which will stipulate the digital identification is expected to authenticate users and service provider ID as well as establish a proxy server and standards in protecting user’s personal information.
The draft digital ID is reportedly planned to enact next year.
