Government Sets Up Fund of 600K Per Innovative Startup

CityNews – The Ministry of Science and Technology by National Innovation Agency (NIA) joined up with Science Park Promotion Agency, Northern Science Park, the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce and Upper Northern Regional Operation and Cooperation Centre to debut the “Northern Innovative Startup (NIS)” at Le Méridien hotel’s convention hall.

Weerapong Pairsuwan, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology said that the Startup Thailand 2016 under the concept “Unite to Rise” was a successIn order to continue on the success, the “Northern Innovative Startup” will be seeking a new generation of operators by providing a 3 Days Startup activity and 8 Weeks Coaching training. The NIS has also set aside a fund to support businesses up to 600,000 baht per project which expects to reach 1.2 billion baht in four years, supporting over 240 projects.

For Chiang Mai, this project will focus on IT Software and Digital Content, Medical Spa and Wellness, and Smart Tourism. And there will be related organisations coming to help and support the initiative such as Science and Technology Park Chiang Mai University (STeP) and the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce.
