CityNews – Fah Lanna Spa and Fahtara Coffee have organised a Donation Drive to try and collect as many warm clothes and blankets for those in need in preparation for the cold season.
Working together with Free Bird Cafe and Thai Freedom House, all donations will be distributed to refugee camps in the border areas and to hill tribe communities in the Mae Hong Son province, with help from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The Donation Drive is also asking for any books (in English, Thai or Shan languages), and any educational games or stuffed toys to also be donated to help set up mini libraries in refugee camps. Thai Freedom House are also providing teacher training for the staff at the libraries and schools. Cash donations are also welcomed to help build shelves and other facilities for the libraries and schools.
