CityNews – Chinese New Year was celebrated in China Town last night, February 8, attracting many local and foreign tourists to the event which had shows, roadside food, and souvenirs.
The event was held along Witchanon Road. Many Chinese tourists also attended the event, with many people dressed in red costumes and qipao, a traditional fashion symbol worn during Chinese New Year.
Chiang Mai University also prepared shuttle buses for Chinese tourists wishing to go up Doi Suthep during the New Year celebrations.
The Chinese New Year festival takes place between February 7 to 9 this year.
