Officials have asked that every aspect of the machine is checked, focusing on breaks, horns, wheels and chassis, to ensure that the vehicles are still safe for visitors.

According to Nipon, all the vehicles are new and have automatic gear systems, and are checked by the zoo’s mechanics every morning.

All drivers are trained prior to transporting visitors and all have a driving license.

Patrols have also been set up around the zoo to be on hand if any issues should occur while visitors are in transit.
