CityNews β September 25, Cherry Blossom trees have bloomed at the Chiang Rai City Hall, resulting in a wave of both local and foreign tourists coming to see the beautiful flowers.
The Cherry Blossom trees (also known as Sakura trees), have had fences built around them and visitors are warned not to touch or pick the blossom to help keep them alive as long as possible.
According to Chiang Rai Governor, Pongsak Wangsamer, around 1000 Cherry Blossom trees were given to the province by the Japan Sakura Association, 200 of which were planted in the City Hall on December 5, 2014, to honour HM The King.
βIn the future, Chiang Rai will be a city full of beautiful cherry blossoms,β said the governor.
