Cause of Death Confusion with Chinese Zipline Tourist

CityNews – A group of Chinese tourists have asked the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China to help investigate the death of their friend who died after falling from a zipline in Ban Pong Krai district, Mae Rim, yesterday on October 12.

According to the company responsible, 32-year-old Wang Qi died after backing out of riding the zipline, which induced heat failure.

However, the results of the autopsy at Nakornping Hospital showed that Wang had died from a broken neck.

The group of Chinese tourists are seeking clarity on the case and suspect the company have attempted to cover up their wrongdoings.

Wang and her friends arrived in Thailand on October 8, and arrived in Chiang Mai on October 10.

Today police are investigating the scene and the associated company that offers zipline rides, popular with Chinese tourists. The highest zipline is 600m above ground.

The investigation continues.
