Care for Dogs has been rescuing, re-homing and caring for dogs for over nine years, and has made a significant impact on the welfare and population of stray dogs in Chiang Mai.

WVS is a UK-based non-profit veterinary service and charity, who collect donations and veterinary supplies and respond to charity requests, helping with emergency veterinary aid, aid and resource parcels, volunteer teams, training and education worldwide.

They will now work under WVS and be enhanced in three major areas:

The new WVS Care for Dogs Shelter will be upgraded, with a focus on rescue, re-homing and vaccination of stray and deserted dogs.

A new WVS Veterinary Training Centre will be launched later this year, offering free courses for Thai vets, practicing surgical skills, sterilisation and specialist courses teaching vital skills.

There will also be new, more effective sterilisation and vaccination campaigns in the Chiang Mai province to help reduce the number of stray dogs and cats on the streets and reduce the risk of zoonotic diseases such as rabies.
